Barclays is reducing its affordability stress rate for residential mortgages by 25bps (0.25%) for general residential cases, including Help to Buy Equity Loan (HTB1), which will improve residential mortgage affordability for your clients.

The new affordability stress rate will sit at 6.74%, and will take place with immediate effect. The new stress rate will also be applied to background residential properties as part of the BTL affordability assessment.
