Our underwriting team are real people who know the challenges that real life brings to you and your clients.
We train our underwriters to talk to you and take the time to understand your clients circumstances. So for those cases that need common sense and a can do attitude, as well as those that go through without touching the sides, put Accord on your list.
Here are some examples of how we’ve helped get a “Yes” for clients. Please remember we assess every case on its own merits and we can’t always flex our criteria – but we’ll do our best to take a common sense view.
- Newly self-employed / directors: We could help that GP in a new practice or a recently promoted Equity partner. If your client has a track record this gives us confidence we may ask for less paperwork.
- Income flexibility – From Accountants to Zoo Keepers, we look at your clients as a whole. In some cases, we may consider an increased percentage of commission, bonus or other income for affordability. We may even take into account future rises in income.
- Adverse credit – Blips in credit history happen, we’re careful, but not judgmental and we’ll look at your clients’ current and likely future situation to see if we can help, it may not be as bad as you think and we can often deal with the odd fly in the ointment.
