When you’ve seen your GP and they’ve recommended you see a specialist it can prompt a number of questions.  Who do I see?  How do I know I’m seeing the right specialist?  How do I find one?  The good news is we’re here to help get your clients on the road to treatment.

From October 2018 we’re introducing our Guided Option for our Personal Health plan, giving your clients more routes to access a specialist.  Jaz Dhillon, Intermediary Networks Director, explains:

“We believe in giving our members a choice about how they access specialist consultations.   If they want the flexibility to see any specialist in the country, then the Extended Cover option is a great choice.  Or, if they’d prefer us to help select the most appropriate specialist, with the reassurance that the consultation fees will be paid in full, then our Guided Option is the one for them. Because of the way the Extended Cover and Guided Options work, it’s not possible to have both on one policy.  However, they can also take a blended approach through our standard Personal Health Plan. ”

Save time, money and hassle when booking a specialist appointment

By taking the Guided Option your clients will get a saving on their subscriptions and when their GP recommends that they see a specialist, they’ll need to ask for an open referral – this means they don’t name a specific person for you to see.  Give us a call to authorise treatment and our Fast Track Appointments team will spring in to action, helping take the stress out of organising the specialist appointment.  We can even book the appointment for your clients or give them the names of up to three specialists to choose from.  If your client doesn’t contact us before receiving treatment or they have treatment with a specialist we have not helped them choose, their claim will not be covered.

With our Fast Track Appointments service, on average our members are seen twice as fast as members whose GPs have referred them to a named private specialist*. We’ll confirm appointment details by the end of the next working day, if not before.

With over 109,000* appointments booked  via the Fast Track Appointments service in 2017, you and your clients can be confident we can support in getting them on the first step to treatment, quickly.
