We have made some updates and improvements to our Critical Illness Cover products.
Summary/Key points
L&G continue to improve our Critical Illness offering and remain focused on differentiating the cover available for our customers.
- The changes include:
Critical Illness Cover – covering 41 conditions
Improvements to our heart attack definition by including diagnostic image testing. These tests have become more relevant in helping to assess the diagnosis and extent of heart damage.
Improvements to our dementia definition by removing the alcohol and drug exclusion.
Critical Illness Extra – covering a total of 95 conditions
Improvements increasing additional payments by 20% from £25k to a maximum of £30k or 25% of the amount of cover, whichever is lower.
Children’s Critical Illness Extra – covering a total of 52 conditions
Improvements

- increasing the conditions covered by adding craniosynostosis
- Our critical Illness plans offer a total of 41 conditions
- Our critical Illness extra plan offers a total of 95 conditions
- Our children’s critical illness extra offers a total of 52 conditions
- All benefits available on Critical Illness plans such as children’s cover, GP24 and waiver are still available.
- Changes go live on 25th November 2018.
- All major portals will be updated for launch.
- New support documents highlighting the changes made.
