Mental Health Pathway: In Focus

“Almost one in five adults were likely to be experiencing some form of depression during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in June 2020.”*

Over recent years mental health has come to the fore, but the pandemic has really demonstrated the need for employers to take positive action and support their employees. It can no longer be a tick box exercise.

That’s why, from the 1st March, Solutions will include the Mental Health Pathway as standard on core cover giving your clients’ workers mental health support from a dedicated mental health expert.

Six key benefits of Mental Health Pathway

1.Quick access to treatment – members can refer themselves for an assessment by a mental health practitioner without needing to see their GP.
2.Proven return-to-work rates – 99% of members who were off work were ready to return to work when discharged. 78% were able to remain at work during their treatment.**
3.Cover based on clinical need – treatment determined by clinical need rather than an out-patient limit, reducing delays in treatment for talking therapies and the risk of unnecessary admission to in-patient care.
4.Wide range of treatment options – easily accessible even during lockdown and includes online cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), remote or face-to-face talking therapies, and psychiatrist assessment.
5.Wide range of practitioners – we offer access to a range of experts, including clinical psychologists, CBT therapists, talking therapists, psychiatrists and counsellors.
6.Support for family members – dependants from the age of 12 can access this valuable service.

We still aren’t fully aware what the extent of the consequences of the pandemic will be on people’s mental health. However, your clients can be reassured that with the Mental Health Pathway, they can help provide crucial mental health support for their members.
