We are pleased to announce that our longstanding partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, which has been supporting Protection clients since 2017, has now been broadened to include all Life, Pensions and Investments products within Scottish Widows.
This means that we can now help more of your clients impacted financially and emotionally by a cancer diagnosis, get access to the support they need.
Macmillan Cancer Support know how a cancer diagnosis can affect everything. Whether your clients’ concerns are about who they can talk to, help with money worries or advice about work, Macmillan Cancer Support provide free, impartial and confidential support.
How does this benefit my pensions and investment clients
Macmillan Cancer Support can potentially help lessen the financial impact of cancer, helping your clients understand the financial help and practical guidance by referring to Macmillan Financial Guidance Team. Clients will also be offered additional emotional and physical support from Macmillan Cancer Support following the initial referral.
How does this benefit my protection clients?
Through our ongoing partnership together, we aim to:
- Decrease the time taken to obtain medical information by working with Macmillan Cancer Nurse Specialists to allow faster payment of claims.
- Offer customers a £2,000 advance payment during the assessment of their claim to support them at their most emotionally and financially vulnerable
- Help customers access emotional, physical and financial support from Macmillan Cancer Support.
We’ll continue to work with Macmillan Cancer Support on new initiatives throughout the year to help support your clients who are experiencing cancer get the financial, practical and emotional support they need.
