Happy New Year everyone! I’ve got some fantastic news for you to start the year with.

Following the ‘20 PMI improvements’ we launched last month, I’m now delighted to let you know about a significant change we have made to our CPME switch declaration.

We have moved to just 2 simple medical questions:

1.    Cancer, heart and psychiatric (if psychiatric chosen) in the last 2 years

2.    Any planned or pending in-patient or day-patient treatment, or awaiting any test results

Even if you have answered YES to a question, we may still be able to offer cover. The company secretary or individual just needs to provide further details for our underwriter to assess and make an informed decision.

This new simplified format applies to all our individual and SME PMI plans. With immediate effect our Broker Portal has been updated and new application forms can be found in our Literature Library – please refer to them for the full wording.

The declaration and warning text around the application form have also been simplified to make the process far less intimidating for the company secretary.

There’s more good news – just one application form needed

On SME applications there is no longer the requirement for an employee to complete any paperwork. Only the company secretary needs to complete the application form and answer the medical questions to the best of their knowledge, making everyone’s life easier.

From your feedback, I know how important the above changes are for you, and I hope it will now give you even further confidence to recommend APRIL UK.

Don’t forget – fast access to an underwriter

You are all able to speak directly with our underwriter and get fast answers to your underwriting queries. Here are her contact details:
