Last year, as a combined business (Aviva and Friends Life) we:
- paid £839 million to help protect UK families – around £2.3 million every day
- paid 98.9% of life insurance claims, 92.5% of critical illness claims and 92.4% of income protection claims
- helped more than 23,000 customers and their families through protection payments.
With an average critical illness claim pay out of £76,613, we understand the often life-changing difference a successful claim on a protection policy can make. That’s why we’re committed to paying as many claims as we possibly can.
