You may have read recently about Axeria Insurance, APRIL UK’s underwriter, decision to withdraw from the UK private medical insurance market This decision has meant that the insurer is no longer accepting new business for either individual or SME customers, and for existing customers will be unable to provide renewal terms. Customers will continue to have cover in place until their renewal date.

We’d like to give customer’s the peace of mind that they will not be left without the option of continuing their cover at renewal, so I’m pleased to let you know that we’ve worked with APRIL UK, to offer individual and SME customers continuation of their private healthcare cover with no additional medical exclusions.

We need to be clear that this arrangement is not for an automatic policy renewal. Customers will have to apply for it, and medical questions/declarations will still be asked. Customers can contact us directly or via their intermediary.

Like us, APRIL UK provides private healthcare cover directly to customers and via intermediaries and has a range of products on offer. We’re confident that we’ll be well placed to help both customers and intermediaries continued private healthcare cover.

If you have any customers with APRIL UK, we’ll be writing to you directly to let you know how the arrangement will work. If you have any questions, please contact your intermediary relationship manager.
