We’re continually reviewing the latest government advice and guidance, which makes clear that people are still able to attend medical appointments. For this reason, our clinics remain open for appointments as planned.
At a time when NHS general practice has shifted its focus to pandemic management, it is even more important that we are able to support patients and customers with screening services, active primary care and MSK services. These services aim to avoid delays in diagnosis, access to treatment and avoid further strain on the healthcare industry in the months to come.
We support the prioritisation of the NHS efforts, and our GPs and clinicians who also work in the NHS, are continuing to deliver NHS care.
Safety comes first in our health centres
- Our clinics are very safe, with measures in place to protect customers and staff, including temperature checks, full PPE and increased cleaning measures.
We’re also testing staff twice per week and we ask our customers to complete a screening assessment before attending an appointment.
What options do customers have?
Health assessments
Our health assessments need to be carried out in a clinical environment as they involve tests carried out by health advisers and doctors. The assessments are able to spot and provide advice on conditions such as heart disease, mental health problems, musculoskeletal issues and some cancers as well as other conditions proven to be linked to COVID-19, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease or being above a healthy weight. Our health assessment customers also have access to our Anytime HealthLine, where they can speak to a nurse 24/7 for any concerns regarding themselves or their family.
Should customers wish to cancel, we are happy to help them re-schedule and will waive cancellation fees during the current lockdown period.
Musculoskeletal services
We’ll continue to offer in-clinic musculoskeletal services, including physiotherapy, musculoskeletal physicians, osteopathy and podiatry. We recommend employees continue their care with us during this time to prevent more long-term, chronic issues.
Should people not wish to travel to a health centre we’re able to change our MSK appointments to remote. Customers should call their local centre to arrange this.
Primary Care and Occupational Health services
Our GP and Occupational Health services are primarily remote with the ability to refer customers for a face-to-face appointment if appropriate. We highly recommend that for any concerns, individuals speak to a doctor as soon as possible. Earlier diagnosis leads to better prognosis.
We will continue to review government guidance as it is released and provide updates accordingly.
