In the latest CuraVision video from Cura, Kathryn talks about Thomas*. Thomas came to Cura seeking protection insurance to cover his mortgage on the family home.

The main reason Thomas approached Cura for advice was because three years ago he’d experienced a TIA, a transient ischaemic attack. He had also been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, he was currently on metformin, and since his diagnosis four years ago the control of the diabetes and of his HbA1c reading was good, he did need to have an injection to stimulate his pancreas from time to time. A point to mention is that Thomas hadn’t experienced any complications associated with his diabetes; this can sometimes lead to a more cautionary approach from insurers. As well as a history of physical medical conditions, Thomas also had a short period of depression a few years prior to speaking to Cura, this had been due to a very close family bereavement and he was now treatment and medication free.

Cura were able to arrange a decreasing life insurance policy of £115,000 over 25 years, for a premium of around £100 per month.
