HMOs continue to be a strong option for professional landlords who are experienced in dealing with this property type or who have a support network in place to manage their extra demands.
The continued appeal of HMOs is evident in the strength of the yields on offer, as highlighted in the Q1 2022 Landlord Panel research from BVA BDRC. The data showed that landlords with HMOs continue to achieve the highest rental yields, at an average of 6.8%.
