We know it can often be difficult for your clients to access General Practitioner (GP) services when it is convenient for them, particularly at the current time with the NHS under such strain due to the spread of COVID-19.

We are therefore pleased to launch a new service to enable your UK-based Freedom clients to get 24/7 access to a fully-qualified private GP, at no additional cost.

24/7 access to a GP

The GP24 helpline service, delivered by Medical Solutions UK Limited, allows your clients to get in touch with a GP by phone for advice, reassurance, diagnosis and, where appropriate, private medication and open referral letters 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

The e-consultation service also enables them to have an online video consultation with a GP from the comfort of their own home or place of work, between 8am and 10pm, 7 days a week (excluding Christmas Day).

The GPs can issue private prescriptions for medication which can be delivered directly to the client (there is a non-refundable charge for prescribed medication and delivery) or collected from a local pharmacy, if appropriate. Open referral letters for further investigation or treatment can also be arranged.

Accessing the GP24 service

To book an appointment with a GP, your client can simply call 0345 222 3706** or use the online booking form. They will just need to have their Freedom policy number to hand.

Which clients are eligible?

The GP24 service is available with immediate effect to all new and existing UK-based clients with a Freedom Elite, Freedom Essentials or Freedom Your Choice policy. This includes individual policies and group policies.

Letting your clients know

We will be emailing your individual clients shortly to let them know about this useful extra service now available to them. We will also be emailing group secretaries, asking them to circulate our website link to their insured employees.

Our website gives more information about GP24, including a pdf leaflet with instructions on how to access the virtual GP service. Please feel free to circulate this information to all your UK-based clients with Freedom Elite, Freedom Essentials and Freedom Your Choice policies.
