Britain’s families report an emotional attachment to their homes; however when you look at how many have protection to help them meet their household financial commitments if they were to fall ill or lose their income, this love isn’t obvious.
Over a quarter of families save nothing on a monthly basis, and just 8% of Britons have income protection in place and only 11% have critical illness cover. If they were to fall ill or lose their income, a worryingly high number have little or no protection, leaving them vulnerable to difficulties with mortgage or rent payments.
