Furness Building Society is delighted to announce the appointment of Matthew Dobson as Finance Director.  Matthew has over 15 years banking experience having occupied senior roles across both Treasury and Finance at Barclays and more recently as Head of Debt Capital at Williams & Glyn Treasury.

The Society’s Chairman, Colin Millar told us “The Board is delighted to welcome Matthew into the team, his proven ability to build, develop and lead teams across a broad range of areas and skills in Treasury and Financial management will be an asset to the Society and we all look forward to working with him to drive the Society forward”

Commenting on his appointment, Matthew said “I am looking forward to working for a strong, independent and regional building society which is committed to remaining as such”.

Matthew lives within the Society’s heartland in Arnside, Cumbria and is a keen sportsman enjoying cycling and rugby, in fact in his youth Matthew played rugby for England Under 18s and also for his Cambridge University team.
