- Introduction
The Insurance Distribution Directive was adopted into UK law earlier in the year. A significant part of this
legislation centres on the provision of pre-contractual information supplied to potential new and renewing
customers in the form of an Insurance Product Information Document (IPID) relating to the cover that they
are considering purchasing to aid their informed decision. This requirement comes into effect from
01st October 2018.
- Details of Changes
All of General & Medical’s IPID’s are be available to download via a separate section of your dedicated
broker log-in area of our website as shown below.
A separate IPID is available for each level of cover so that the differences are clear to the customer. Where
there is a mix of cover levels, for example in a group scheme the IPID’s for each level of cover will need to
be provided to the customer despite it being a single policy. This also applies to any relevant upgrades that
are issued under a separate policy such as Worldwide Travel.
From 01st October relevant IPID’s will be issued with renewal documentation to clients via their online
secure area.

- All immediately affected documents are live on our website and available to download.
- Please ensure that you log in to your Broker Area to view and download the latest versions of all
documents and discard any old copies. To do this, click on the ‘Login link at the top of our website
homepage and then select ‘Broker Login’ at which point you will be prompted to enter your
login credentials.
