As part of our ongoing commitment to improving customer service and reduce time to offer I’m delighted to inform you of an improvement to our underwriting process.

Where previously we waited to instruct the valuation until the application was at pre-offer stage (unless explicit authority to instruct was received sooner) with immediate effect we will be instructing the valuation immediately after initial underwriting assessment has been completed and prior to going to references.

Our research suggests this minor process change will benefit applicants by reducing the amount of time spent waiting for valuation reports and enabling us to issue mortgage offers even more quickly.

Needless to say, if you have any concerns with individual applications you can request a delay with valuation instruction, however, this will only be accommodated on an exception basis.

This is just the first in a series of process improvements we plan to roll out over the coming months and we look forward to communicating more improvements to our service proposition soon.
