At Metro Bank, we understand the importance of “getting it right first time” ensuring that the applications you submit are turned around quickly.

We have highlighted below some “top tips” to support you and your customer:

  1. Lending Criteria – All lenders are different so it’s important to understand our Mortgage Lending Criteria before you submit an application – don’t forget to also call your friendly BDM to talk through the details.
  2. Packaging Checklist – Before you submit your application, please see our helpful Packaging Checklist. This outlines all documents we require to support your application ensuring we work towards the quickest possible turnaround time.
  3. Check the Detail – This sounds obvious, but it is always best to make sure that the information you have provided is accurate in order to avoid delays.
  4. Packaging the Application – Uploading all checklist items at the same time (ideally when the application is submitted) enables our underwriters to fully assess the application and move forward to valuation. TOP TIP – don’t forget to expand the checklist box to view the full list of documents required by clicking the expand page icon in the top right corner.
  5. Uploading Documents – Labelling documents correctly when you upload them means our underwriters will be able to see clearly what documents have been provided. This will help save time and avoid our underwriters coming back with more questions.
  6. Contacting Underwriting – If you have further information you would like to provide to support the application, you can use the ‘Send a Message’ facility. This can be found in the bottom right hand corner of the portal homepage.
