Our new policy paper, ‘Renters at Risk’, has found a surge in the number of working people who would be at risk of being unable to meet their rent in the event that they lost their wage through unemployment or sickness. Based on detailed analysis of the Government’s Family Resources Survey, the report found that in 2013/14, 5.5 million working adults would not qualify for full housing benefit if they were to lose their job.
