Hi everyone and welcome to this weeks protection update which I have called “Vitality Protection Academy”.
We’ve been working with Vitality to look at some specific areas of their proposition and translate them in a simple and understandable way.
I’ve been working quite closely with Paul Craven who you will have seen on some of our protection webinars this year and we picked a set of different topics that you might not be aware of and we’ve created mini learning modules which I hope will give you a really good technical and sales understanding of exactly how these features work.
I know some of you are big advocates of Vitality, but I also know some of you won’t consider the products when you source them. I guess there are different reasons for that, but when you look at a proposition which has real depth, it can sometimes be off putting if you don’t understand exactly how it all functions and fits together.
So, we’ve created what we’re calling a Protection Academy and so far we have 4x modules.
These are simple and short videos but afterwards you will get the opportunity to test your knowledge based on the content of each module.
In module 1 we look at the Earnings Guarantee which is a feature specific to income protection. When you understand exactly how that works, you’ll realize its one of, if not the best version of that in the industry.
In module 2 we look at the Plan Account. Those of you who have a good understanding of this will, I’m sure agree this is one of the best innovations on protection products within the UK. It allows you the ability to claim more than your sum assured and repeat claims so in this module we look at how that works using a variety of different examples.
In module 3 we look at Protected Life and Protected SIC. This is a way of making sure you can make repeat claims on your policy and in this module, we get into some examples of exactly how it works in practice as well as how much this costs to have on your policy.
And in the 4th module, we look at how you can provide excellent coverage for a range of different public sector workers. The issue with this group of the working population is that it can be difficult to design an income protection solution for them based on their sick pay arrangements, but in this module we show you how to solve this problem using this excellent feature.
So, it’s a bit different and we haven’t done anything like this before so please take a look and let me know what you think? I’ve added a link to the training hub (which is where this is stored) in this weeks protection update.
