Cardiovascular disease (or CVD) is an umbrella term for all diseases of the heart and circulation, including heart disease, stroke, heart failure, cardiomyopathy and atrial fibrillation.

Collectively, heart and circulatory diseases cause 160,000 deaths each year in the UK1.

The high numbers highlighted above are one of the reasons we developed our Key3 Critical Illness Insurance products which cover heart attacks and strokes (as well as cancer).  This week’s underwriting insight takes a closer look at these conditions and how we underwrite them.
