It may be worth noting for discussion with clients either switching or new to the market that Vitality have the Vitality GP who can facilitate onward referrals to consultants, which, in the current climate, could be really important as it may become a real struggle to see their own GP for a referral. Other providers ask for a GP referral which may prove problematic.
NHS resources may be redirected so getting treatment for non Covid 19 conditions could be difficult and having the reassurance of private healthcare could be very welcome to your clients.
Also Vitality have free apps for Mental Health and also 30% discount on Headspace – again maintaining good mental health is high on the agenda for the public especially now.
We have a new NHS Cash Benefit Covid-19 benefit which will pay £250 per day for any admission as a result of COVID-19, increasing to £500 a day from the eighth day of hospitalisation, up to a maximum of £5,000.

And yes we have extended the NHS In-patient benefit to include Covid 19 conditions, which wouldn’t normally be eligible as they are emergency admissions, so £250 for in-patient stay per night.
Payment holidays – we are currently exploring and we hope to have an update soon.
Stop Cancelling – we don’t have anything so far and as far as we know there are no plans.
Private beds – we are monitoring the situation and at the moment we aren’t seeing any disruption to services, should this change we will let members know what the impact would be.
