VITALITY’S SERIOUS ILLNESS COVER BOOSTER: DELIVERING THE PERFECT MORTGAGE PROTECTION SOLUTION TO YOUR CLIENTS

Vitality’s Serious Illness Cover takes a unique severity-based approach, which means that it pays out amounts aligned to the impact of an illness, paying out earlier and covering more conditions than traditional critical illness policies.  This does however mean that for certain conditions, Serious Illness Cover may not pay the full sum assured where a critical illness policy would.

We recognise that this might not perfectly meet your clients’ needs if you’re recommending protection to fully pay off the mortgage on illness.  It’s for this reason that we offer the option, Booster, which we believe delivers the perfect mortgage protection solution.

Booster can be added to either Vitality’s Primary Serious Illness Cover or Vitality’s Comprehensive Serious Illness Cover. This provides the best of both worlds, a policy which pays 100% on the most common causes of claim whilst also protecting your clients against a number of unique early stage illnesses, which still have an impact on their lifestyle.

What YOUR CLIENTS get with Serious Illness Cover Booster:

  • Cover for 178 conditions under Comprehensive Serious Illness Cover and 145 on Primary Cover, including more cancers than any other insurer1.
  • Severity-based payments – because some conditions are less debilitating than others – for example, if you lost sight in one eye you may need to take time off work, so our payouts start from 15% of your cover amount.
  • 100% payouts for the conditions covered on typical critical illness policies – giving you certainty that your client will be able to pay their off mortgage in full should the worst happen. Booster provides a 100% payout for all heart attacks, all strokes and cancer as defined by the ABI
  • Boosted payouts up to 200% for conditions with a long-term physical impact – If you develop one of the conditions we’ve identified as having the most severe long-term physical impact, we’ll boost the amount we pay, depending on your age when you make the claim.
  • Extra boosts to your payout, if you have dependent children on your plan – if you develop one of the conditions we’ve identified as having the most severe long-term physical impact and have children named on your plan, , we’ll give your payout an extra 10% boost per child to make a stressful time that little bit easier.
