Testing for COVID-19

There’s been much speculation, particularly over the last week, on COVID-19 testing. We’ve updated our FAQs in line with our current stance to help you answer any questions your clients may have.

Vitality are not currently advocating the use of tests for COVID-19 outside of the current government guidelines, or covering the cost of any tests. The guidance and evidence is changing all the time, we will continue to monitor the situation intensely and are evaluating on a daily basis. Find out more.

Business updates you need to know

VitalityHealth:
Last month VitalityHealth launched the COVID-19 Cash Benefit designed to support members with Core Cover if they become hospitalised due to Covid-19. Members are eligible for a £250 payment per day, for the first eight days, rising to £500 from the ninth day onwards, subject to an overall maximum of £5,000. We are extending eligibility for this benefit until the 30 September 2020 to continue to provide support to our members.

VitalityLife:
A large determinant in Whole of Life plan pricing are the yields available on long term government bonds. These are now at historic lows due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and as a result we are reducing the upfront discount available on Whole of Life plans.

Currently after the age of 70, Wellness Optimiser premium adjustments depend on your client’s Vitality status. Now, your client’s age also will be used to help align the upfront discount with the way in which Wellness Optimiser status adjustments apply. As a result, if your client selects a term at commencement that continues beyond their 70th birthday, the upfront discount available will slightly reduce each year. Find out more.

VitalityInvest:
During these unprecedented times, we know that writing business with your clients may be more difficult than usual. Despite the current situation, we are fully operational and are continuing to maintain our consistently high service levels.
