Hi everyone and welcome to this weeks protection update.

I’m currently on holiday but please take a look at this weeks protection update for an important announcement about funeral plans.  The FCA have announced some changes which does change our ability to distribute funeral plans going forward so I sat down to record a protection insight podcast recently with our Compliance Director, Ben Allen to go through the main detail and all the key things you need to know.

And we’ve also attached a second podcast called “Welcome to OneFamily”.  Again, I recently caught up with Gary Dalton to talk about their over 50s proposition and some of the unique features and benefits of their award-winning proposition.

Cashback from Guardian

Now you should have seen some of the comms from Guardian this week, but just in case you missed it, Guardian are doing a big promotion to celebrate the 200^th birthday of the Guardian brand.

And what that means is any client who takes out a Guardian protection policy between 1^st October and 30^th November will receive 2 months cash back on their protection cover.  These will actually be paid back a little bit further down the line.

The offer is all to do with Critical Illness cover, which means the policy needs to either be a Critical illness or combined life and critical illness policy and each ‘cashback’ will be equivalent to one month’s critical illness cover premium.

There is no minimum premium requirement, but the cashback payment is subject to maximum of £400 for each qualifying critical illness cover.
