Hi everyone and welcome to this week’s protection update.

Here’s a question for you…

Do you think it’s possible for someone to get diagnosed with 3 different serious illnesses at 3 separate times and get paid out from their protection policy on each of those 3 occasions?

Well, it is possible.

It’s possible to have a protection policy that covers you for serious and critical illnesses that allows you to claim multiple times.

My big thanks go to Nigel Pointer from Viisana.  Nigel is a protection specialist within the network and I sat down with him a couple of weeks ago and he tells a fascinating story of what his own protection claim story and what happened to him when he got taken down with a life-threatening illness.

He also talks about the thing that helped him realize the importance of comprehensive protection and that was his own father who experienced 3 different critical illnesses during his lifetime.

The podcast is called ‘the need for protection – Nigel’s story’ and it just shows that you never know what’s just what’s around the corner.

Roadshows – start next week

On a completely separate issue, I just want to apologize about the London roadshow that we scheduled in for next Wednesday.  Unfortunately, we’ve had to postpone it because there is going to be serious travel chaos in London next week.

I wasn’t able to book a train to get me to London during the rush hour peak time and Bob Scott had even further to travel and his train has been cancelled.

The providers were also telling me that they were worried they might not get there on time so we felt the most sensible decision was to pull the event and reschedule it.  So that means we will still do a London roadshow event.  It will be on the same theme of Advice Quality and things you need to know about…  but we’re going to run this after the summer holidays.

I’ll announce a new date and confirm the venue very shortly.

I think we’ve written and spoken to all of you who were booked in so thankyou for being understanding.

For everyone else around the UK; we will see you soon, starting in the North East on Tuesday and Edinburgh on Friday net week.
