Why having a healthy work environment is critical for business success.

The link between employee health and wellbeing and productivity is well known.     With this in mind more and more companies are looking to adopt a health and wellbeing strategy for their business.  If you thought that having a health and wellbeing strategy was only the domain of big businesses it could be time to think again.    In fact the effects of absenteeism can be felt more acutely in companies that have a smaller workforce and,   with the overall average cost of absence per employee being £522* it’s a problem that can’t be ignored.

We caught up with entrepreneurs Gina and Alex to explore their approach to health and wellbeing in their workplace.  Here are some of the insights they shared about how they’ve built a healthy working environment for their teams.

 

Having a healthy team is an asset to any business

Having a team that actively engages in their own health and wellbeing can go a long way to creating a workplace culture that is productive and runs at peak performance. We asked Gina Conway, Owner of Gina Conway Salons and Spas, to describe her strategy for success.

Alex Heaton, CEO and founder of Live Smart talks about the importance of health and wellbeing.
