Hi everyone, I hope you managed to catch the Inbetweenysode last week, where I spoke about commission and fees. With there being a lot of discussion about this recently online, I thought it was the perfect time to speak through some of the pros and cons of each.

Roy McGlouglin. is back with me, and we are also joined by special guest Andy Woollon, Retail Specialist Presenter, Strategic Partnerships at Zurich Insurance to discuss intergenerational wealth planning. Following on from the recent Income Protection Task Force week, protection insurance and wealth planning feels like a natural mix to talk about. If you haven’t seen the sessions yet, you can watch back on their dedicated YouTube channel.

I come from the protection side of things and it’s interesting to see how the two areas can work well together. I do know that it’s fair to say that income protection is pivotal to financial planning, and it can be a key time to signpost to a protection adviser if you yourself wouldn’t usually advise on protection. We talk about using a cashflow model to highlight what can happen if their income isn’t protected, the impact it would have on their overall financial plan, which I believe is an extremely valuable tool to use.

Next time Matt Rann will be joining me again and we will be focusing upon arranging insurance when you are living with Lupus. There is a big difference in the insurances that are available to those who have Lupus to those who are carriers of the gene, so it’s really important to be very clear about this.

If you want to know more about how to arrange protection insurance, take a look at my new Protection Insurance in Practice course here.
