Top tips…
- Please check the net pay – we use the lower of the payslip OR our affordability calculator figure
- Bonus, commission or overtime
- Weekly – latest four weeks’ consecutive payslips plus one payslip from each of the previous two months identifying the payment
- Monthly – latest three months’ payslips
- Quarterly – three payslips showing last three payments received
- Annual – most recent payslip showing payment plus previous payslip or P60 evidencing the payment paid in the previous tax year
- A flexible approach to deductions…
- Discretionary deductions – if these have been excluded from affordability, always tell us in the general notes section of Introducer Internet (e.g. additional pension contributions, sharesave, employee share scheme, Give as You Earn, private healthcare)
- Non-discretional deductions – cannot be excluded from the affordability assessment (e.g pension, student loans, season ticket loans, childcare vouchers)
