Scottish Widows & Aviva upgrades, Vitality Health Checks at the NTE, Helping Hand 2.0
Hi everyone and welcome to this weeks protection update.
It’s a short week with the Easter bank holiday looming and our big focus is the NTE which happens 2 weeks from today on Thursday 28th April.
I wrote to everyone who hadn’t already booked their place on our registration platform earlier this week and I’ve added another link to this weeks update. There really aren’t many places left so this is probably your last chance to register if you haven’t already.
Click on the registration button below to register your place today!
Scottish Widows Commission
Now I’d like to announce that Scottish Widows have increase indemnity and non-indemnity commission this week and we’ve updated our commission tables which you will be able to see right now on the adviser site.
Aviva – Multi Policy Discount
Aviva have just announced something quite exciting… Advisers in the network and the DA Club can now take advantage of a multi policy discount. This went live on Monday this week 11th April.
You can now apply for up to 6 Aviva products at the same time and a multi policy discount will be applied to each policy.
Essentially, the multi policy discount is £0.75 per plan, with the £0.75 discounted on each policy provided that there is more than 1 policy in the plan. That means a plan with 3 policies for example will result in a total premium discount of £2.25 across the 3 products.
This really is a symbol of what you get with a proper adviser, which people not wanting to take advice won’t often see; spreading the risk, covering different need areas, but all within one plan and one direct debit.
If you quote on solution builder, you will see this reflected in any Aviva quotes where there is more than one policy in the plan.
Vitality at the NTE
Now I mentioned right at the start that its our NTE in a couple of weeks.
We have a huge exhibition hall with 70 different lenders and providers, but if you visit the protection zone, Vitality are doing something a little bit different.
It’s not just your usual exhibition stand, but in fact you’ll be able to get a health check from the Vitality Nurses who will be joining us for the day.
I caught up with Antoinette earlier this week to find out more where I asked her what you can expect to see from the Vitality Stand…
And after I finished speaking with Antoinette from Vitality, I found an interesting statistic about high blood pressure.
According to the NHS website they say that ‘Around a third of adults in the UK have high blood pressure, although many will not realize it’.
So visit the Vitality stand in the Protection Zone and take advantage of your free health check. You never know…

And finally, I recently sat down with Tony Ormond from Royal London to talk about their new and improved Helping Hand.
It was one of the first ‘added value benefits’ we saw on a protection plan nearly 20 years ago and it has stood the test of time with many people taking advantage of the free to use service.
But Helping Hand has been upgraded with some really good health check services and then some specific features and benefits that can act as preventative measurers against things that come up in the health check.
So there’s a Protection Insight Podcast attached to this weeks protection update, so check that out.

Ok, so it’s a long bank holiday weekend now so hopefully we get some decent weather. Have a great weekend everyone and I look forward to seeing you soon.
