As you will be aware, there has been much confusion regarding the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the EU (Brexit). As your insurance provider, we have been waiting for some clarity before issuing renewals effective after the Brexit date (supposedly 29th March 2019).

Given the ongoing delays in this process, we have taken the decision to issue your clients renewal notice anyway to give them an idea of their renewal premium.

It is important to note that Morgan Price will continue to provide insurance cover in the EU. It is just the logistics of how we deal with you and our mutual clients that may change. You may see a short delay in issuing documents, even if we have received payment details, as we wait for clarity from the Government who seem to be taking this to the deadline. The document delay will purely be until we know which Morgan Price entity to publish on the documents, as set out below.

Rest assured we will hold cover for any client who renews between 30th March and when we are able to issue documentation. Their cover will be unaffected. The insurer of the plan is still an EU based insurer, and this hasn’t changed. It is the distribution part of the process (Morgan Price not being able to passport into the EU any longer) that will change slightly, and this is resolved by utilizing the Danish regulated company.

How that may change will depend upon whether the UK leaves the EU, and if so, on what date. There are 3 main scenarios at the present time:

Scenario 1.    UK doesn’t leave the EU at all.

The insurer of our Plan, Elmo Insurance Ltd (a Maltese based insurer) will remain unchanged. Morgan Price in the UK will continue to deal with you as per previous years and nothing changes.

Scenario 2.    UK leaves EU on 29th March as planned.

The insurer of our Plan, Elmo Insurance Ltd (a Maltese based insurer), will remain unchanged. Morgan Price will deal with new and renewal policy’s through a joint venture with a Danish based company. The address and communication details will change, but the back-office functions of administration, premium queries and claims will remain in the UK.

The names appearing on documentation will change to include details of our JV partner. This is nothing to be concerned about. In addition, we will be using an EU suffixed email address and Danish phone number routed through to our UK office. We will advise you of the exact details following Brexit.

Scenario 3.    UK delays leaving the EU until a future date.

The insurer of our Plan, Elmo Insurance Ltd (a Maltese based insurer), will remain unchanged. Morgan Price in the UK will continue to deal with you as before, until or if, the UK leaves the EU. Then it will work through the Danish company as in Scenario 2.

We appreciate that there are several different outcomes here, but all the above are designed to provide you with certainty for your clients, through these uncertain political times, and to impact on you as little as possible. As soon as we know which of the above is likely to be the case, we will notify you.

Rest assured, your custom is important to us and we are committed to being your health insurance provider going forward.

Yours Faithfully,
