Product: Continued Moratorium and CPME – Additional Exclusions and/or Endorsements

General & Medical Healthcare are continually reviewing our products to ensure that they offer compelling solutions and great value to customers in line with the market. Changes to options available as part of our Private Health Insurance products are detailed below.

Details of Changes:

Private Health Insurance for Individuals/Families and Individual Sports HealthcareThe wording of clause 10.42 under ‘Additional Exclusions and/or Endorsements’ relevant to ‘switch’ business has been updated as follows:

If your cover is subject to Continued Moratorium (Continued Mori) or Continued Personal Medical Exclusions (CPME) underwriting, either as an individual or a group,

I. the following procedures will be excluded from your transfer of cover to us for a minimum period of 36 months where you have had, in the 60 months prior to the start of your cover with us, any symptoms or condition (present or in remission) requiring any of these procedures or treatments,
a) cardio procedures (including heart by-pass surgery),
b) cancer care, investigations or treatment
c) psychiatric or mental health care or treatment,
d) joint replacement or revision surgery.

II. all other treatment, investigations, or tests, required, for conditions for which symptoms were present prior to the start of your cover with us, will be excluded from your transfer of cover to us for a minimum period of 6 months.

III. in addition, benefit, care or treatment which relate to pregnancy, or complications of pregnancy (including private delivery), are excluded from your transfer of cover to us for a minimum period of 10 months.

  • All immediately affected documents are live on our website and available to download.
  • All further affected documents will be available on our website when they come into effect.
  • Please ensure that you log in to your Broker Area to view and download the new versions of our brochures and discard any old copies.
