WHAT’S NEW FOR APRIL 2021?
Dedicated care for growing families
We’re extending our maternity case management service to customers all around the globe. Following a successful pilot, our dedicated care team are on hand to help customers set up eligible maternity claims, supporting the family throughout pregnancy and birth. And, when the time comes, case managers can even help with adding the new‑born to the policy.

We’ll let you know when it’s ready to download from your toolkit.
NEW BUSINESS PRICING CHANGES
Global health plans
This April our SME new business rates have been capped at a 1% increase, which means an annualised increase of 3.53% since last April. Individual new business rates have been increased by between 5% and 6.4% since last year, depending on the plan they have chosen.
Keeping costs down for customers in the Channel Islands
Individual new business rates have been increased by no more than 1% on the Islands Health Plan from April 1st. This means an annualised increase of around 3.5% since last April. SME rates have been increased by 2.5% from April 1st.
A REMINDER OF WHAT’S CHANGED SINCE APRIL 2020 RENEWALS
Access to our new Mind Health service
The Mind Health service is an integrated proposition that connects members with fully qualified psychologists over the phone. So, wherever they are in the world, your clients can get professional guidance in a setting of their choice, all through the ease of a phone call.
The Mind Health service is included with all individual and SME plans, and will be available as an optional upgrade for employee schemes of 50 or more lives, from their next renewal.
Virtual Doctor available to all customers
You’ll know that our Virtual Doctor service is available to individual and SME members across all levels of cover and currently, for employee schemes of 50 or more lives, the service is an optional upgrade. From 1st April 2021, we’re extremely pleased to say that all of our new business groups of this size will now have Virtual Doctor service embedded as standard. It will no longer be an optional, paid for, upgrade.
Even more treatment facilities added to our AXA Select network
Customers’ benefit limits now go even further when they choose treatment at any one of the 900+ new European providers we added to the AXA Select network.
Clinical support pathways for customers in the UK & Channel Islands
We worked with one of our insurers, AXA PPP healthcare Limited, to introduce a new Clinical Support Centre, so your clients who live in the UK and Channel Islands could access specialist consultations over the phone, without needing to leave their homes to visit a hospital or clinic. Access to the service has been extended until 31st July 2021.
Easier for SME employees to use their plan
Whether it’s a simple question about cover, or to find a provider, our new healthcare hub can help employees find out how to:
- Get in touch with us and access online accounts
- Find a provider and find out how to make a claim
- Use our Virtual Doctor service to speak to a real doctor, from anywhere
- Get a diagnosis reviewed with a second medical opinion
