Three-quarters of cohabitees don’t have life cover

Cohabiting families are the fastest growing household type. Almost three-quarters (73%) of cohabiting couples do not have a life insurance policy, compared to 56% of married couples, a poll suggests. Zurich, which commissioned the YouGov survey, warned that because cohabiting families do not enjoy the same legal rights as married couples, this is leaving thousands of families at risk should a partner dies.
