Happy January from all at Hive Insurance Services (you may remember us as APRIL UK – we changed our name at the start of the year).

Whilst our name may have changed, we’re still committed to offering you the very best accident and sickness plans. And on 20th January 2020 we’re introducing some significant improvements to our Sports Accident Plan that will make it even more appealing to sports people.

Cover now extended to all semi-professionals

Semi-professionals can struggle to obtain income protection and accident cover. Our Sports Accident Plan previously excluded those who earn more than £5k per year from sports. This has now been lifted and providing they have another job from a non-sporting occupation and work at least 16 hours per week – they will qualify for our plan.

A new starting point – Bronze cover

We’ve also introducing a new lower level Bronze cover that provides weekly benefits only, if the policyholder is unable to work following a sports accident. It costs just £20 a month, making the plan very affordable and an essential consideration for anyone serious about sports.

A summary of benefits

  • Out of work benefit – up to £350 per month
  • Hospitalisation benefit – up to £350 per week
  • Coma benefit – up to £350 per week
  • Serious injury benefit – up to £35,000
  • Anterior cruciate ligament – up to £400
  • Achilles tendon rupture – up to £400
  • Fracture benefits – up to £500

Please read the policy document for full information regarding eligibility, benefits and exclusions.
